In the scenic setting of Spazio Parco Milano, within an 18th-century farmhouse revamped in a modern style and surrounded by a park spanning over 22,000 square meters, the awards were presented to the finalist projects of the 7th edition of The Procurement Awards.
It was an evening full of emotions, thanks in part to the presence of an exceptional host, actor and comedian Germano Lanzoni, who managed to engage and entertain the room packed with purchasing directors from the leading companies in Italy.
Alongside him on stage was Maria Teresa Bongiovanni, CEO of The Procurement, who opened the evening with these words: “We thought of taking you, for one evening, away from the noise of the present, in which, like brave captains, every day you are facing ever higher waves, called energy costs, inflation, lack of raw materials, and many other adversities. But paraphrasing a famous movie, ‘This is procurement, beauty!’”
Following that, Micol Barba, editor-in-chief of The Procurement, interviewed Giuseppe Morici, Senior Advisor, consultant, author, and member of the board of directors of the Feltrinelli Group, who, in a phone interview, shared his professional experience and vision of work in companies. He drew inspiration from his latest essays, “Fare i manager rimanendo brave persone” (Being a Manager While Staying a Good Person) and “Leader ma non troppo. Arte e fatica di guidare un’azienda” (Leader, But Not Too Much: The Art and Effort of Leading a Company).
After his speech, it was time to reveal the winners: Maria Teresa Bongiovanni and Germano Lanzoni unveiled the ranking of the top three finalist projects in each of the five categories in competition: Ethical and Sustainable Procurement, Cross-Functional Team Procurement, Skill Development, Negotiation Best Practices, and Innovation in Procurement.
The evening continued with the winners of the special awards, including the first edition of “Crescita Italia,” presented by The Procurement president, Alberto Mariani, to Enel’s project titled “Energie per crescere” (Energy to Grow).
“From this moment of great difficulty for our country, we can only emerge through a restart that involves everyone, and Enel’s project, which aims to train 5,500 resources by December 2023 to strengthen the companies in its supply chain, is an excellent example,” commented Alberto Mariani, as he presented the award to Alda Paola Baldi, Head of Procurement Italy.
